Twitter Two Factor Authentication: A big news is coming out regarding Twitter. It is believed that Twitter will start charging for SMS two-factor authentication. Only Twitter Blue subscribers will have the privilege of using the least secure form of two-factor authentication.
Twitter support has tweeted that from March 20, 2023, only Twitter Blue subscribers will be able to use their two-factor authentication. Rest of the users will have to use Authentic App or Security Key for 2FA.
‘Committed to keeping people safe’
Twitter Support said they are committed to keeping people safe on Twitter. That’s why two-factor authentication (2FA) is given to keep people’s accounts safe. Instead of just a password, 2FA now requires users to enter a code or use a security key to log in.
Effective March 20, 2023, only Twitter Blue subscribers will be able to use text messages as their two-factor authentication method. Other accounts can use an authentication app or security key for 2FA. Learn more here:https://t.co/wnT9Vuwh5n

What is two-factor authentication?
Two-factor authentication helps ensure that you and only you can access your account. Twitter has so far offered three methods of 2FA. This includes text messages, authentication apps, and security keys.
Two-factor authentication allows people to protect their accounts even if someone has stolen their password. The company said in a blog post that it is no longer allowing any account to enroll in the 2FA SMS method unless they are Twitter Blue subscribers.
